I know. I haven't updated in ages. But I honestly haven't had the inspiration to do so. Now I'm on here to plug.

I joined the Miami Gay Men's Chorus is August 2008. It's my first season with them and this weekend we have our final show of the year. I encourage anyone reading this who lives in South Florida and can make it down to South Beach in Miami, FL this weekend to purchase your tickets for this show. It's going to be an amazing event and I know you won't be disappointed.

I just wanted to throw this out there...so everyone has our family in their thoughts, prayers, whatever...

But I'm scared. My nephew was born on Wednesday...his name is Gabriel. He came into this world weighing 7 lbs. 5 oz. and measuring 19 3/4" long. He's a beautiful baby boy. The fear is that he has heart problems...a hole that hasn't closed. There's a possibility he'll need surgery as soon as Friday. There's also the strong possibility he has Down's Syndrome. That, I have to admit, is the least of our worries. Down's Syndrome babies enrich the lives of so many families. But it's still something that has affected us greatly.

It's been a shitty two years, man. I feel so............blah. Between my Mom's passing last year and now this with the baby...well, you can imagine. And with the holidays coming up...I don't feel up to much of anything. But I keep telling myself I have to be the decorator...the one to bring that joy into my home. I painstakingly did that last year...without my Mom pointing to where she wanted a certain Christmas ball on the tree...without her help putting the hooks on them...without her smile as she sees it all coming together. I miss her smile. I miss it so much...

I sit here hurting so much just wanting her to tell me everything's going to be ok. Because no matter how much everyone tells me it will be...for some reason I could REALLY believe it when she said it. And right now I'm not believing it...

So please, dear friends...keep us in your prayers. Lift your voices to the heavens and pray for peace and understanding. Pray for comfort...just keep us all in your thoughts. I'll try to keep everyone posted. I'm sorry I haven't done so earlier...

Ugh...I know I haven't updated in a while. Sorry. But there just isn't anything of interest to say at the moment...

...well I DID join the Miami Gay Men's Chorus this week. I haven't been in a chorus since high school. Creepy...but I'm looking forward to it. Aside from that? Really...nothing interesting.

This was BRILLIANT. And it was so much fun to be a part of. If anyone has the opportunity to see this...I say it's a MUST. Don't pass it up. And they've extended shows until August 31! I've already purchased tickets to see it again!

I have a new celebrity crush...and his name is Ben Whishaw. People...why was I not aware of him before??? Funny...I found out last night after returning from seeing the revamped Brideshead Revisited that he was in Perfume! I remember before it was released in theatres that I wanted to see it...and loser me has yet to do so for whatever reason. You bet I bought that shit on Amazon last night. Mmm hmm...Please tell me I didn't waste my money in doing so. Anyone?

I will have to add the novel to my list...along with the original BBC miniseries. Must.

I just heard that Estelle Getty, known popularly for her role as Sophia Petrillo on Golden Girls, passed away this morning. She would have been 85 on Friday. I'm saddened. I think it's time to pull out my DVDs...

For the last few days I've had a terrible summer cold. My nose is severely congested and my entire body aches...I want to be put out of my misery. NOW.

Ok nevermind. I feel icky. I'm sorry. I'm not in the best mood.

I went to the movies Friday night with my sister to see The Dark Knight. If you have yet to see it...I suggest you get off your ass now and go to the nearest theatre. Thank you.

Aside from that highlight, my niece's first birthday was on Saturday. She is just absolutely adorable and I love her to pieces. She was so cute diving (literally) into her cake. There are pictures available on my Facebook.

Ugh...I'm going back to my warm bed. Perhaps I'll been in a better mood later to write more.

So it's been a while since I've written a fair entry. I don't know if this will be considered one, but I'll try...

I just bought a laptop on Saturday and I'll be receiving a self-installation kit for cable internet in the next few days. So hopefully you'll be seeing more of me from now on. I'm excited...I can't believe I have a NEW laptop...not an old one...used...battered. No...I have a new laptop purchased with my own money. How exciting!

Yes...I guess that's the most exciting thing in my life right now. LOL. Well...aside from the fact that there are plans to be moving to Texas soon. Well, I think I've already mentioned that...but it's still in the works. My younger sister is pregnant again...due in December...so plans are on hold to move. But it's still going to happen eventually. That is if it's God's will of course...

Um...gah. I haven't written in this thing in a while...I'm dry. I don't know where to begin. Let's just say things are well. Life is good. Not great...not what I thought it would be at this point in my life...but nonetheless life is good.
